I have been working on this Hexie Caddy this past week whenever I can. You can find the tutorial here. Thank you Penny! I finally used these fat quarter 30's prints that my friend gave me so long ago. Thanks Maureen!
I just filled the completed caddy with what was on hand to show you. It is larger than I thought. Will I make this again? Ali requested one! How sweet!
Here is a side view. The instructions say to beware of filling it too much for it will split. This is ALL handmade, by the way! I had to take some stuffing out as it did split and I had to reinforce the edges. I would figure out how to do it by machine next time.
You can see how it is puckering. I am sure that means something in the sewing world!
Have you noticed my mistake? I did not space the yellow properly. Oh well, it is a design feature!
I threw down my ruler so you could see just how large it is!
Thanks for stopping by. I have had a request to do a private swap and I am so excited about it! This is yet another first! Stay tuned for what I will produce for that one!

great attempt alia...i love your fabric choice too
I can't see a mistake... But then mistakes are part of handmade items. Love it. The vintage repros are perfect for that.
its lovely. and big!!! lol maybe if you filled it with rice or something then topped it off with stuffing??also, what if you reinforced the fabric with fusible interfacing?
Love it and its perfectly handmade!
I've always wanted to try that pattern one its so handy isnt it?
Thank you all! Lois: The mistake is in the fabric placement. It's all good! That is an idea Susan! I think the fabric needs to be reinforced if rice is to be put in it. Hi Mayya! I just finished it yesterday and that stuff that was in the picture is still in it. I really haven't put it to use to see how it will help me but I am sure I will find some use for it!
I looks just perfect!!!no mistakes in my opinion!!!
